Legal, Terms & Disclaimers

Last updated: June 15, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of CivicsPrep Pro (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

CivicsPrep Pro helps you study the 128 questions from the USCIS 2025 Naturalization Civics Test through flashcards, practice tests, progress tracking, and optional AI-assisted study aids. The core question bank is transcribed from the official USCIS document (Form M-1778). The Service is provided for educational and self-study purposes only.

2. No Legal or Immigration Advice

Nothing in the Service constitutes legal advice, immigration advice, or a substitute for guidance from a licensed attorney or an accredited representative. Eligibility, procedures, and outcomes for naturalization depend on your individual circumstances and on official USCIS rules. Always confirm requirements with USCIS and, where appropriate, a qualified professional.

3. Accuracy & “As Is” Content

Certain answers change over time — for example, the names of current officeholders and state-specific facts. We make reasonable efforts to keep these current, but we do not warrant that any content is accurate, complete, or up to date. The authoritative source for changed answers is uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates. The Service and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

4. No Guarantee of Results

Using the Service does not guarantee that you will pass the civics test or be granted naturalization. Readiness estimates and projected pass likelihoods are statistical estimates based on your activity, not predictions or guarantees of any outcome.

5. Accounts & Acceptable Use

You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to disrupt it, access it without authorization, scrape or resell its content, or use it to violate any law. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Pro features are offered as a recurring subscription billed through our third-party payment processor (Stripe). Fees are disclosed before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you may cancel at any time and retain Pro access through the end of the paid period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. We may change pricing on a prospective basis with notice.

7. AI-Generated Study Aids

Optional AI features (such as explanations and mnemonics) are generated by automated systems and may be inaccurate or incomplete. They are supplemental study aids only and should not be relied upon as authoritative. The official USCIS questions and answers always take precedence over any AI-generated content.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CivicsPrep Pro and its owners, operators, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event will our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (US$50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CivicsPrep Pro and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

10. Privacy

We store the data needed to operate the Service — your account identity (handled by our authentication provider), your selected state and study activity, and subscription status. We use this data to provide progress tracking and Pro features, and we do not sell your personal information. Authentication, payments, and AI features rely on third-party providers (Clerk, Stripe, and OpenAI) that process data under their own terms. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the Service’s operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
